Dog Houses (Dog Sheds)

The Cochrane and Area Men's Shed, under the leadership of Eric Mohun, has partnered with the Cochrane & Area Humane Society and Sacred Suga Society to build dog sheds for the community of Mînî Thnî, just west of Cochrane. The project will provide safe, weatherproof shelters for the dogs of Iyarhe Nakoda while helping strengthen the connection between Cochrane and Mînî Thnî.

The Men’s Shed volunteers are contributing their time, skills, and energy to bring this project to life, while generous support from West Fraser, Home Reno Haven, Sure West Roofing, and The Common Works provides the materials and expertise needed. Each shed is more than just a shelter, it’s a symbol of care, collaboration, and the difference communities can make when they work together.

As construction continues, the project promises to leave a lasting impact, providing comfort for the dogs and reinforcing friendships and partnerships between communities.
