Wheelchair Ramp
Recently Cochrane & Area Chamber of Commerce’s Jennifer Daae Wanner reached out to the Men's Shed with a request to help a local family extend a wheelchair ramp at their new home.
The move had brought an unexpected challenge. The new entrance sat a few steps higher than their previous home, so the existing ramp wasn’t long enough to provide safe access. Without hesitation, several of our members stepped in and got to work.
What makes this so meaningful is that it’s about more than a ramp. It’s about showing up for a neighbour and using our skills to make life a little easier for someone else. It’s also about the value of working side by side, where conversation comes naturally, friendships grow, and purpose is found in doing something useful together.
This is what Men’s Shed is all about. It’s men helping others, supporting each other, and quietly strengthening community through practical action.
A sincere thank you to everyone who gave their time and effort to get this done.
