Raised Flower Beds

The Cochrane Men's Shed recently had the opportunity to support the Cochrane Society for Housing Options by building raised flower beds for the Homestead.

CSHO (Homestead) provides affordable housing and support for members of our community, creating a safe and welcoming place for residents to call home. These flower beds will give residents an opportunity to enjoy gardening, spend time outdoors, and bring some colour and life to their shared space.

The men gathered in the workshop and got to work building and staining two 6’ raised beds. While the project itself was simple, the impact goes beyond the finished product. It’s another example of how the Men's Shed can use the skills and experience of its members to support organizations doing important work in our community.

We’re grateful to the CSHO for inviting us to be part of this project, and thankful to the men who showed up, shared their skills, and built these flower beds with care.

Projects like this are a great reminder of what can happen when community organizations come together and lend a hand.
